Music is a mirror of cultures, history, and traditions of a region or community. Similar to other art forms, India’s music is present in diverse genres and varieties. It is undeniable that the interest and knowledge about our Indian music heritage is fading. Indian Classical Music, reflecting the rich Indian traditions of the past, is largely popular in fusions with other forms of music. We are fast forgetting the unique musical forms from remote areas of our country. Traditional old music forms have uniqueness and historical importance and there is a need to reinstate the interest.

'Vadya' is our initiative to promote Indian Classical Music and revive the dying folk music forms of India. It has 2 dimensions: a blog to provide information about Indian Classical Music, enlighten about the old traditional forms of music from remote regions and communities of India, and to entertain with interesting facts about diverse music genres of Indian history, and a 'Performance' section, presenting Ragas or Compositions on different musical instruments.
